Hello!
I’m Railyn Krentz! I was born and raised in Reno, Nevada and I loved every second of it. Reno felt like home to me, and I couldn’t imagine living anywhere else. I currently attend the University of Nevada, Reno and am a current junior majoring in Communication Studies with a minor in Business Administration.
I am a student worker for the Associated Students of the University of Nevada (ASUN) as the Director of Event Programming. This is my second year within this role and I have made it my goal to transform the department into something that students are proud of seeing. While in this role, I have overlooked most of the student events that ASUN has held. This includes: Wolf It Down, the annual midnight pancake feed, Undie Run, and Howl Fest.

On top of being a student worker, I am also a Supervisor at Wild Island Family Waterpark in Sparks, Nevada. I have held this position for 2 years and have been working at Wild Island since 2021. This role allows me to stay connected to the community within the broader Reno area and allows me to speak to a variety of people who come from all over Northern Nevada. This position has also taught me how to manage large teams of people of a variety of ages; within the Admissions Department that I helped supervise, we had a total of 100 cashiers that worked for us!

In my free time, I love to read and hang out with my friends. Finding new local shops to shop at, finding new hiking trails, and even just spending a day in South Lake Tahoe are all things that I enjoy to do. We always take advantage of Lake Tahoe only being a 45 minute drive from Reno! There are so many shops to see, they constantly host different events, and the lake is always gorgeous to look at – all year long!

After graduation, one of my biggest goals is to continue to plan events for companies. The idea of building upon my skills and using them to help amplify a company’s image and to help bring their own employees closer together is a large goal of mine. My favorite thing about event planning is seeing how much your event actually had an impact on someone else’s life, I want to be able to help build upon someone’s memories and help them in living a happy and fulfilling life.
